Key Update for Australian Visa 190 and 489 Applicants

There are currently a high number of applications for state sponsorship, with a backlog of applications in Queensland and Victoria.

‘Business and Skilled Migration Queensland’ and ‘Live Melbourne’ have stopped accepting new applications at this time.

  • Business and Skilled Migration Queensland

Temporary measures are in place to stop new invitation offers for skilled applications until July 2018. BSMQ advise that in July applicants must lodge a new Expression of Interest (EOI) to be assessed for skilled state nomination.

BSMQ will continue to issue new invitations for business applications, however due to the backlog new applications are unlikely to be processed before July.

  • Live Melbourne

Any skilled application that was received before the 15th of May 2018 will be assessed, however, waiting times on outcomes may be longer. At this time no new applications are being accepted for Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) nomination applications or Skilled Nominated visas (subclass 190).

No changes have been applied to the processing of business and investor visa nomination applications.
