Have you heard about the Changes to WA State Sponsorship ?
Anyone seeking nomination from WA State Government will need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to SkillSelect, indicating that they are interested in WA State Government sponsorship.
The WA Government will then trawl through the EOIs and issue invitations to apply for WA State sponsorship only to applicants they deem appropriate

'Between 1996 and 2011, Australia's overseas-born population grew by more than 40 per cent to reach six million. This was more than double the rate for the Australian-born population and is essential in addressing the demographic challenges of an ageing population,' Immigration Minister, Mr Brendan O'Connor said today .
'With the government's strong emphasis on skilled migration, this sort of growth is also crucial to ensuring depth in Australia's labour force.

Did you know The Dept of Immigration only started using ANZSCO occupation descriptions on 1 July 2010?
This means many current 457 visa holders have a position described with an old ASCO code.
It is extremely important to use the occupation correlation chart when deciding which ANZSCO occupation to nominate when applying for the permanent transitional stream 186 or 187 visas to avoid a visa refusal.
