On 18 April 2017, the Australian Government announced that the Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457 visa) will be replaced with the completely new Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa in March 2018. The changes come into effect at different times, from now up to March 2018.
TSS visa programme will be comprised of:
• A Short-Term stream of up to two years (renewable onshore once only for a further 2 years), and
• A Medium-Term stream of up to four years (renewable onshore and with a permanent residence pathway after 3 years).
From 19 April 2017 the Skilled Occupation Lists changed; there are also less occupations.
